Water Well Mission Project (continues through June 30)
ORLS and Sunday School are partnering in a Mission Project to support Living Water Ministry/Operation Blessing in digging a bore well in Africa. Our goal is $1800 which will dig one well. The bore well provides clean drinking water, gives children a chance to live a healthy life and attend school. The elderly no longer need to walk long distances in search of water in scorching heat. The villagers are trained to maintain the well and are taught proper hygiene and sanitation. The really good news is this is done in the name of Jesus!
A plaque at the site will be inscribed with date of completion, well number and recognition of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church Sunday School and School. If the government allows, scripture will also be added to the plaque in the native language and English.
If you feel led, we can use some assistance in reaching our goal. Memo a check to Sunday School Water Well Mission Project. What a blessing to the villagers and to each of us to have the opportunity to give the gift of water.
